Okay, I kind of feel like a great big phony! I mean, here I am going on and on about loving yourself, being body positive, etc, etc, etc. When, in truth I have the worst self esteem issues! (I get really down on myself, which is sad, but I think the truth for many)!
However, I know...I swear I have to start practicing what I preach! I mean, I am. It is a daily struggle for sure.
What I have to remind myself is that I think all women feel like this, hell I am sure a lot of men feel like this too. Even if they are what we wish we could look like, I am sure they have their own issues. I mean, I know plenty of skinny women who will tell me they wish they were curvier, or had a bigger booty! I look at them like, here I will trade you! Let me try out your skinny ass for a little bit, see if I really don't like it!
So how do we really love the body, the features, the hair, the shoe size that was granted to us through our DNA? How do you become comfortable with your boob size, when you jealously look at someone who is at least 5 braz sizes bigger than you? How do you not feel like a porkchop, wrapped in saran wrap when you get into a bathing suit? (Ugh, that's the worst)!
Yes, there are things we can do.
We can diet, exercise, have surgery, wear extensions, and more. I mean, we can honestly alter how we look. But, that is just altering, just masking who we really are. Seriously, when I take off my makeup, I don't look the same. My cheekbones aren't as defined, my eyes aren't highlighted, lashes virtually disappear. So, its fine to alter, but you still have to like what you have without that those tricks.
Damn..I wish I had the answer. (I would totally share it if I did)! I wish I knew what to do, because although I can honestly look at everyone around me and see them as beautiful and amazing, I don't feel like I fit in at all.
Body positivity? Way, way harder than people think!
