I cannot wait for the day my youngest son no longer wants to dress up for Halloween.

It actually makes me giddy thinking about it!!!:)

If you're one of the moms who just cringed that I wrote that, you might not want to read the rest. Because I am going to be blunt  honest with you right now.

I am over the holidays.

Seriously LOATHE them.

  • I don't want to spend money on decorations.
  • Don't get me started on costumes, or putting together goodie bags for their ungrateful classmates. (It's like a little piece of hell right there).
  • I love giving gifts, except when it is Christmas.
  • Kids birthday parties are just competition for parents to one up each other!! I mean, does a 4 year old really need a party that costs hundreds of dollars?? I can't remember the last birthday party I let any of my kids go to....those invitations go right in the trash. Because first, I don't want my kids suddenly wanting a party (because I am not throwing one), and two, I don't want to go buy a gift for some random kid that I don't know. (We do celebrate birthdays, just low key with family).
  • Just the other day we got invited to a baptism. Fine. However, this is for a sibling of one of my kids classmates that we don't even know!!  WTF??!!!

The list goes on and on.

There was time I enjoyed these things. But over the years, I have just got burnt out and am ready to be done. Am I thankful for the memories? Yes. Do I look at photos and remember the good times? Yes. BUT, am I so excited that in just a couple of years there will be no more:

  • Easter Bunny
  • Tooth Fairy
  • Santa Clause
  • Halloween costumes
  • Valentines Cards

YES, YES....HELL YES!!!!!!  Those are the days I long for!! I the only one???
